Saturday June 6 2009

Last day for "on time" registration for The Little Dragons Chinese Language lessons, a Saturday after-school program hosted by the Middle Country School District.

Now entering its third year this is TAALI's own after-school language program. Language and culture classes are held Saturday mornings in the Dawnwood Middle School, 10 43Rd St Centereach, NY 11720. At $350 per student (a $25 late registration fee applies) we have the lowest cost and smallest class sizes of any Chinese language classes on Long Island. Ours is also the only program within 30 minutes of Stony Brook that teaches traditional characters. Our students attend culture classes at no extra charge and receive priority placement to study (Traditional Chinese instruments.) See the "exciting announcement" below.

Exciting Announcement

Begins Oct 2009 . . . . maybe

We have an exciting opportunity to begin sponsoring a Taiwan music teacher to come to Long Island, long term and teach adults and children to play traditional Chinese instruments. Likely instruments to include er hu, pi pa, zither, two kinds of flutes and (maybe) Chinese drums.

Modeled after private piano lessons these classes will likely consist of weekly 25-30 min lessons and cost approx. $120 a month. To assure the teacher of an acceptable income and living standard, interested students and parents will be asked to pay a substantial deposit (which will be applied toward cost of lessons) several months before the teacher arrives in the US.

Interested persons sold email bobhyneman@optonline.net
